Thank you to TV Producer Wayne McDougall for this fabulous Shaw TV Piece showing my SOLO EXHIBITION at The Lloyd Gallery (Penticton BC) where Guest of Honour Daryl Gibb (Osoyoos BC) brought his Palomino Quarter Horse Cowboy (Caviada Cee Bee Flit) right into the Gallery to see the artwork. In Attendance was Guest of Honour Dr. David Ward of the Fairview Arabian Stud (Okanagan Falls BC) who is the breeder of many of the Arabians that I have the pleasure of painting. George and Friends, 3rd Annual Group Exhibition

Denis and I were busy on Saturday. We also were able to attend the Opening of “George and Friends 3rd Annual Exhibition” at the Leir House in Penticton. There are many talented artists in the Okanagan Valley, and every year George L. Traicheff’s show includes amazing pieces which are done by local painters, sculptors and potters. George is a versatile painter who is well known for his stone lithography and each year it is a treat to see his new works.

Western Showcase, Calgary Stampede Arts Show
July 6 – 15, 2012

Calgary Exhibition and Stampede holds a number of venues for the showing, promotion and sales of art every year. When I used to live near Calgary, I would put sculpture or jewellery into the auction, but this year I decided to put a couple of paintings into the Arts Show…I was so excited to find out that Palomino Sunset won first place of all classes of paintings and drawings! I am so grateful for the honour of having the judges love this piece so much!

Penticton Art Gallery Benefit Gala, July 7, 2012

Penticton Art Gallery‘s Annual Fundrasing Gala is a favourite event. I donated one of my relief one of a kind sculpted sterling silver and emerald pendants, “Subconcious Salmon”… from a series of “Fish of the Subconcious”. Fish represent the subconcious (as they live under water) and the series had a lot of differetn fish with different significance. The money raised goes to support programs at the Penticton Art Gallery.

Every year SOWINS (South Okanagan Women in Need Society) holds an award dinner and gala to recognize the achievements of outstanding women throughout the valley. This year’s gala was held on March 3th. I donated one of my Equine paintings for this worthwhile event. It was awarded to an outstanding young lady. Displaying at the Leir House is always a treat. The Leir house is a heritage site, one of the first estates built in Penticton. Each year, George gathers artists to share their work together. Penticton Art Gallery‘s Annual Fundrasing Gala was so much fun, I mean “HIP”! The theme was Warhol Factory! And… I won a prize for the best costume (which wasn’t actually a costume at all, those were actually my real clothes!) I donated one of my relief sculpted sterling pin, which was sold by silent auction with the money going to support programs at the Penticton Art Gallery.
